Large photo layout - Por Else

Hello creative friends!
Some days my head is exploding with new and creative ideas, some days there's not a single creative thought to be found... Very frustrating when you, right at that moment, have the time to scrap ;-)
Of course there is the social media and internet for mountains of inspiration, but you can also look back at your own creations for some inspiration. I remembered a full photo layout I did a few years ago, and decided to try this again.

I printed a photo on an A4 size and I chose to change it to black and white. I didn't use a regular scrapbook collection for this layout, but I used digital files I purchased at Etsy. I bought the flower arangements from a business on Etsy called 'Create the cut'. The pack is called 'rosewater' and it's really beautiful with watercolor flowers.
I decided I wanted a flower cluster on two opposite sides. Then the fussy cutting began... I don't mind some cutting, but sometimes I really wished I had a fancy cutting machine ;-)

To give the page some dimension, I created some french knots on the layout with embroidery thread. Pull the needle and thread through the paper, wrap the thread 3-4 times around the needle, like shown on the picture above. Then return the needle through the same hole in the paper and pull the thread through. This stitch looks like a little flower bud. It's subtle, but I love the extra interest it adds to the layout.

I finished the page with a large title, a few colorful labels and some gold Colorshine by Heidi Swapp.
Hope you can find some time to scrap and be creative! See you soon, XO Else

"Tasty Treats" - Por Julia

Hello everyone! You know that this month challenge here at In The Scrap is about punches. So I still have my puches out on my desk and I do love that little circle punch. And that was my starting point for this layout. I punched a lot of circles out of vellum and arranged them in a not so ordely grid on the top of my background.

I also had the picture of some yummy summer galette I made recently. I got my summer ephemera box out and found this older, but still favourite Crate Paper thickers for the title. That title and the picture is a perfect fit.

Because I like my layouts light, clean and rather simple but at the same time also playful and with some colour splashes I used some older Dear Lizzy stickers to put some colour on it.

My journaling went into a vellum pocket. Unfortunately gives me my sewing machine some trouble right now, so I had to handstitch the pocket to the background paper. But luckily I like that handstitched border, it is not so clean as a stitched border with a sewing machine.

Recently I put my summer scrapbooking stuff in one box. Before that I had everything from one collection together, but I do like mixing different collections and I definetly like the outcome, like that summer-food-layout.

I hope you had some fun with the punches-challenge. I think you will like the next one too, because that is an all time favourite.

Best wishes, Julia

Auburn Lane Layout - Por Neftali

Welcome everyone, it is Neftali here today to share some scrappy inspiration. Today I am sharing the layout below where I am using the gorgeous Auburn Lane collection by Pink Paislee.

Have you had a chance to play with this collection? It’s filled to the brim with florals and if you pick up multiple pieces from the collection you’ll find that every piece is different in texture which helps create stunningly textured and unique projects.

When I began this layout I started off by picking one of the wooden frames. I picked the oval green one since I was using a photo of my husband with our son during a Fall photo shoot I took of them a few years back.

I decided to embellish in a diagonal formal to add that special floral feel using the flowers and stems. You can also see how I added splatters in that same diagonal shape to bring it towards the end of my page.

Some of the flowers I used were vellum, while others were card stock. I loved this variation. I can’t express enough how much I love the variety in textures and materials included in this collection.

For the last few bits of embellishments, I added a few puffy stickers including buttons, the top right cluster, and my itty bitty title, “This is Bliss.”

As far as you process, this is it!

I hope I have inspired some of you to try this collection. Sometimes, it’s not about the technique, but simply the supplies that can inspire you to create something beautiful for your books. Thanks for stopping by today!

Ballerina Layout - Por Jo

Hola a todos amigos de In The Scrap!

Jo.

Birthday Mini - Por Julia

Hello dear minibooklovers, I (Julia)  just turned to a minibook fan myself. So I watched a lot of Videos on how to make them, specially the binding. Today I will show you how a minibook about my daughters birthday turned out.

As we have this month a challenge to use our punches, I created this cover with that in mind.

I also knew that I wanted to use some confetti and sequins on the cover, because I think that this gives the book the special festive character. So I mixed some sequins and paper punched stars for the front pocket.
But I made the cover last, after I had the papers already cut and bound.

I created the see-trough-pocket out of a page protector. For that I was totally inspired by Steffi Rieds beautiful minibooks. She even has a video on how to make it!

I put the minibook title behind the see-through-pocket on the first album page. I wanted the title not to shake around, therefore I glued it on the first paper with some other little thicker embellishments.

As for the pages I was also inspired by some videos I saw.  Unfortunately I can't show you the whole book, because there are so many children in there that are not mine. Therefore are here some pictures of pages wihout people on it.

That was just a little peek in this little birthday book. I hope you liked it.
Have a nice day, Julia
