Layout with acetate and acrylic pen - Por Julia

Hello and welcome scrappy friends to my, Julia, first entry here at In The Scrap. I'm honored to be here and I created something special for today.

Since this month challenge is to scraplift my dear friend Steffi Ried and we both share a special fondness for transparency elements, I had to create something see through. I started with a picture of my grandma and my son, a clear acetate sheet  and an acrylic pen.

I drew some flowers on that acetate sheet, cautious not to draw a flower on my grandma's face. As a guideline I used the beautiful actetate sheet from Paige Evans Pick-Me-Up Collection.
Here are some pictures of the finished sheet on a darker background for a better vision.

Then I thought about the background for that acetate sheet. I liked the white background but I also made a colored background with some light watercolors. It looks great and I realy like the contrast between the watercolors and the white pen.

But in the end I decided to use the white background for this layout, because I put some watercolors on the component part of this layout, where my little depiction is. Some stickers and a die cut word are the only embellishments I used on this layout.

Now I need to make more of this acetate - acrylic pen - combination. I have visions of this in my Project Life album and I definitely need more of these pens in other colors. Gold would be perfect.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day,
Julia

Layout "Sweet" - Por Christina

Hello lovelies,

today it's my turn to share a new layout with you, and it's all about stamping - I didn't use one piece of patterned paper, can you believe it?

I started by looking for all kind of different word / phrase stamps. Smaller ones, bigger ones, squiggly ones, modern ones, ... and stamped a kind of pattern with different stamping colours on some leftover pieces of structured cardstock.

I also used some patterned stamps and an embossing pad and powders, because I always love the glossy finnish and extra structure.

With my diecutting machine I cut out all kinds of flowers and leaves, drew some lines with yellow acrylic paint on my 8,5 x 11" cardstock and arranged the flower diecuts arround my black and white picture.

Finally I added a little bit of extra stamping, three small yarn bows and some spray ink splashes - done!

I hope you liked my layout and that I could inspire you to use your stamps more often!

XOXO

Layout "So Fun"- Por Jo

- Jo.

Flourish big 'mini' album - Por Else

Hello scrappy friends!
I love the Flourish collection by Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper. All those florals and botanical prints are right up my street! But I've noticed that the pieces and patterns are so bold, big and bright, that I find it hard to make a small and cute mini album with this collection. So... Why not make a big 'mini' album with it?!

I bought a DIY kit for an album with a MDF cover (about A5 size). I only used the covers and a few of the pages of this kit. I used some white paint on the MDF covers, so the sides of the covers would be white and not that dark brown colour.
Maggie Holmes used old books paired with her Flourish collection on YouTube, which looked so stunning together! This inspired me to use pages from an old dictionary.

The original pages from the DIY kit were my template for the size of the pages. I selected the patterns I wanted to use and started to assemble the pages and add fun elements, like paper bags and pockets.

Then using the stickers, chipboard and die cuts from the collection to embellish the pages. Because the pages are a reasonable size, I could use all sorts of big pieces, without it overpowering the page.
To break up the album with some interactive elements, I also used some 4x4 inch page protectors from Project Life and a shaker pocket with sequins.

For the covers I used the dictionary paper for the inside, and the beautiful floral paper for the outside.
These albums also make perfect gifts for friends and family. Below are some pictures of the inside of the album. Stop by on my Instagram (@sgrselse) for a flip through of this album.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope this will inspire you to start crafting and make beautiful projects!

All the things I love layout - Por Lisa Fonseca

Hi friends,

I'm back on the blog today sharing this layout with you

I got the idea of making this layout, when I saw one of Paige Evans' new cutfiles. It's a star cutfile and I really love all the different sizes of the stars, creating a super cool frame.

I wanted to back it like I've done a lot of times before, but I didn't want to back them all, nor did I want to 'decorate' each star in the same way.

So I started to cut out big stars from different papers from the Shimelle Box of Crayons collection and from the Paige Evans Oh my heart collection. I backed all the big starts but I didn't adhered the stars exactly behind the cutfile. I turned them a bit to make the edges peek out.

For some of the tiny stars, I punched out some stars with a punch using the gold and green glitter papers from Shimelle. This time, I didn't put the stars behind the cutfile, I stuck them right on the cutfile, again not trying to place them exactly straight.

For the middle sized stars, I took my piercing needle, I pierced some holes and I stitched the inside of each star using metallic thread.

Then I used a lot of embellishments from Shimelle's Box of crayons and Dear Lizzy's Stay Colorful collections and the Shimelle sticker book. I used stickers, puffy stickers and some pieces of ephemera.

I matted my photo on some pieces of scrap and placed it on the right side of the layout, overlapping the cutfile a little bit.

For my title, I used three banners from Shimelle and I used the alpha stickers from the same collection. I love to mix all the letters and colors, it gives a really cool look.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post.
