Rachel (wordsandpaperscraps) here.. I'm so excited to be sharing my first post on In The Scrap! The project I'm sharing with you is on my list of favorites I've made recently - not too many elements, but the ones used combine to make a beautiful finished product.
I chose a patterned paper in my stash from Maggie Holmes' "Open Book" collection as the background. I trimmed a white piece of cardstock to be just a little narrower, so the pattern would peek through on the sides. I then tore the top of the white paper for a whimsical look.
Next, I fussy cut some flowers out from a page of that some collection. I love how the bold pink looks against the black and white patterned background. I matted my photo to another black and white pattern for a little more interest.
Once I knew where my flowers would go, I stitched through the middle. I don't stitch too much so the flowers will still pop.
To finish off my page I stamped a few phrases toward the bottom, added some pink Shimmerz paint splatters, and some wood veneer embellishments. This page reminds me a little of Christina's monochromatic post a few weeks ago -I must have been inspired. I love anything that makes color pop.
Thanks so much for checking out my post! I'm so excited to be here,
