When life gives you birthdays, eat cake! - Por Lisa

Hey guys,

It’s Lisa and today I’m sharing this colorful and fun layout with you.

Since this month’s challenge theme is WISHES, I wanted to stay in the theme and I chose to scrap a picture from my last birthday.

So, to start off this page, I chose an exclusive paper from the talented Irit Landgraf. It’s a watercolor background. I used a star stencil and put white stars all over the page.

While this was drying, I created my cute bunny. I always get inspiration on Pinterest and then I draw my pictures by hand. When I had my bunny, I cut out the different pieces, chose the papers for the different parts and cut out those pieces from the patterned papers.

I glued everything on a white sheet of paper and hand-stitched around the whole design.

Then I took the photo and matted it on different pieces of ephemera and tissue paper. I love doing this, to make the picture stand out more and give it a colorful frame.

To give the page a border, I  machine-stitched around it but I found that the bottom of the layout was too empty and white. So I cut out cloud-like strips from two different pink papers. I also stitched over those and put them on the bottom.

Those “clouds” were the perfect base to put a ton of cute chipboard embellishments. I used some different collections and chose ice cream cones, cotton candy, a camera, a flamingo, candles...
I also used a chipboard banner to put on the top right corner.

For my title, I chose a cute quote from Pinterest: WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU BIRTHDAYS, EAT CAKE. 😊😄 so let that be a good advice for life...!
I finished the whole thing by adding some splatters of black ink a bit everywhere and I was done.

Hope you enjoyed this. If you want to see the whole process video for this, check it out on YouTube.

THANK YOU
Lisa 😊

  1. Since prehistoric times, organic gems have been prized by people from all walks of life. Some organic gemstones can be extremely expensive, but there are other varieties that are very affordable, including fossilized (petrified) wood, mother-of-pearl and shark's teeth. The family of organic gemstones is very small, and technically they're not even stones per se.
